CHILDREN & YOUTH MINISTRY

Mount Olivet United Methodist Church offers many opportunities for children,      pre-teens, and teens to not only worship and understand God’s word, but to also participate and be a part of our church family.

Children’s Time
During our Sunday 11:00am worship service, we devote a section of the service to the children and invite them to come listen to our Pastor share a special message…and often times they even get a special gift. The children also participate by helping with a special collection of “loose change.” In the past this offering has contributed to causes such as the Lord’s Pantry and the House of the Carpenter’s camp scholarships known as “camperships.”

Children’s Church
During the 10:00 am Sunday service,  those that are too old for the nursery are invited to participate in a lesson and activity that correlates to the message being delivered to the rest of the congregation. We have several experienced volunteers that lead these activities to ensure that the children are learning and enjoying God’s word as much as their parents.

Pre-Teen Youth Group (Grades 5-9)
Every first and third Sunday of the month at 6:00 pm we hold our youth group meetings which last for about 1 1/2 hours. During this time, the youth learn about God and how it pertains to their lives as they grow into adulthood.  Some of the fun activities we have planned for this year include campfire with Smores, Christmas Party, going to the movies and much much more!

Vacation Bible School

Every year Mount Olivet holds a different themed Vacation Bible School. Not only do the children learn about God, but also participate in funs games, science experiments, crafts, music time, and enjoy a themed snack. All children on the Hilltop are invited!

Annual Christmas Pageant

Miss Linda Criswell leads the children in our annual Christmas Pageant.  It's always entertaining to watch our children depict the nativity and listen to their sweet voices celebrate Jesus!
